VERIFICATION

The Department of Water Affairs has, in terms of section 35 of the National Water Act 36 of 1998 (NWA), initiated the statutory process for the verification of existing water uses.

 In terms of section 35, farmers ,Lodges and businesses may be required to apply for the verification of their existing water uses.

 The responsible water authority  will then determine the extent and lawfulness of a water use and such determination may limit the extent of existing lawful water uses.

We assist Farmers,Lodges and businesses when responding to any official notice and specifically when completing the prescribed application forms.
